The Planning Appeals Board, presided over by chairman Ian Spiteri Bailey, met earlier today to decide yet again on the fate of the development appeal for the Ulysses Lodge at Ramla l-Hamra.

The Appeals Board decided that the developers should be given two months in which to regularise their position and pay the outstanding MEPA fees pertaining to the appeal, the Appeals Board quoted from case law showing that such concessions had been given in the past.

The fees in question amount to €186 or 5 per cent of the planning application fee, whichever is higher and the Appeals Board will only abstain from hearing the appeal if the developer fails to pay the fees within the stipulated time.
