PD envisages new Executive and leadership in place by October

Partit Demokratiku has said that it is moving into its next phase as the Executive have approved the setting up of a Steering Committee, whose duty will be to assist in the party’s transition to a new Executive with reformed structures.
PD, in a statement explained that the current Executive will stay on in a caretaking capacity. “The party has also set up an Electoral Result Review Committee, whose results will be announced by the caretaker Executive in July,” it said.
“The Steering Committee will review the statute as one of its duties, while fostering a discussion about how the party can best serve as Malta’s last bastion of strong opposition and draw up recommendations from grassroots,” the PD said.
Partit Demokratiku added that it is envisaged the new Executive and leadership will be in place by October. “As PD enters this phase of renewal, it aims to continue providing an ever growing voice to the disenchanted section of the electorate.”
Partit Demokratiku concluded by reaffirming its founding pillars of “good governance, the environment and the pursuit of social justice, for a democracy which works for everyone without discrimination, free of tribalism.”
