Police have advised that a 68-year-old woman was seriously injured after she was hit by a car in Triq il-Qbajjar, on the outskirts of Marsalforn, Gozo.

The incident happened on Monday morning at about 10.45am, when the woman, a resident of Zebbug, was hit by a Mitsubishi L200 which was being driven by a 46-year-old Kercem man.

The woman was rushed to the Gozo General Hospital for treatment for her injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing.
