Waste collection times have been changed in some localities, including three in Gozo, Marsalforn, Nadur and Xlendi.
The Ministry for the Environment, Sustainable Development and Climate Change, in a statement, said that it has now amended the Schedule 3 of the referred legislation to optimise the current waste collection schedule.
The Ministry explained that the amendments outlined in the published legal notice reflect a continuous consultation process it had organised during the past months together with all relevant stakeholders including local councils and operators.
These proposed amendments were directly outlined by the key stakeholders who evaluated the impacts of the local context and scenarios experienced after October 2018, the Ministry said.
In Gozo, the changes are as follows:
Nadur – Addition of one black bag collection on Saturdays, from July to September (black bag from twice weekly to three times weekly), in line with standard practice.
Xlendi –
Marsalforn –
