The Qala Local Council has said in a statement that it will be at the forefront in protection of the locality’s environment.

Referring to objections against a proposed development of a rural room in an area known as Ta’ Muxi, the Council said that to this end a resolution was approved to appoint lawyer Dr Claire Bonello and architect Carmel Cacopardo to represent the Council in submissions and all necessary procedures in the case of the application.

A spokesman for the Council said that there was unanimous agreement that the environment in and around Qala needs to be safeguarded. The Council had first objected back in 2016 when the application was first submitted to turn the room, which is in ODZ, into a large villa.

This application should not even been discussed let alone been given the permit. QLC keep on the pressure like you did in the past

Gozitans should be up in arms and protesting such development that will destroy the picture perfect area. Greed has no shame for future generations.
