The 14th edition of the Qala International Folk Festival takes place later this month in the heart of this beautiful village.
The Festival, which is organised by the Qala Local Council and the Qala Menhir Folk Group, will entertain visitors with music, dance, traditional food and colourful costumes.
This year’s Festival will see the participation of 3 guest foreign folk groups – Breaching from Belarus, Splatter from Austria and Akragas Folk Dance of Sicily, as well as Ta’ Kerrew Folk Group, 3Sopranos, DCaptials Band and Keith Anthony, together with the Qala Menhir Folk Group.
A firm favourite on the Gozo cultural calendar, the Festival takes place over three days, between Friday, the 20th and Sunday, the 22nd of September, when the village square of Qala, will be transformed into a hub of folk activities that give visitors an insight into the island’s cultural history.
The Festival’s intercultural programme has grown to attract locals and visitors alike who enjoy this different and enjoyable spectacle.
