2 men granted bail after being accused of threatening a man in VictoriaPolice have said that two Maltese men, who are resident in Xaghra, were arraigned in the Gozo Court having been accused of threatening to injure a Libyan national.

Both men, who are aged 33 and 48, appeared before Magistrate Paul Coppini. The incident took place at around 5pm on Sunday afternoon, in St Francis Square, Victoria.

Charges were also brought against them for being drunk in public, swearing and breaching the public peace.

One of the men was charged with being in possession of a sharp instrument without a police permit and breaching conditions of a previous Court Order.

Both men denied the charges and were granted bail by the Court subject to conditions. The Court also issued the Libyan man with a protection order.
