Bank of Valletta organised a young savers event for the winners of the BOV young savers newsletter competition. The prize giving event also included an educational tour for all the winners and their family members around the Museum of Banking which is situated in the heart of Valletta next to St. John’s Co-Cathedral.

David Brinkworth, curator at the BOV Museum said “it was a pleasure watching the fascinated faces of all the children as I walked them through the history of Banking and explained the origins of Bank of Valletta while showing them the priceless artefacts, some of which date back 200 years.”

Once the tour was over, Edward Muscat Azzopardi, head of marketing at Bank of Valletta, distributed the prizes to the seventeen winners. Regarding the unusual setting chosen for the event, Mr Azzopardi explained, “Bank of Valletta prides itself in being the financial institution with the longest continuous history and deepest roots in Malta. We are pleased that so many children recognise that the Bank is more than a financial institution, actively participating in our drive to broaden the knowledge about the rich cultural and historical heritage of Malta.”
