The National Blood Transfusion Service has said that the National Blood Bank can be compared to a “bottomless well.”
The Service said that faced with the continuing need for blood donations it is calling on Gozitans to donate blood which is always so urgently needed by the sick in hospitals on Gozo and Malta.
A donation session is taking place this Tuesday, the 19th of November, at the District Health Centre in Xewkija, where they will be taking donations between 1:00pm to 5:00pm (last registration until 5:00pm).
The Centre is located in Triq tall- Hamrija, between the Primary School and the Bocci Club.
The Service reminds everyone that it is important to always take your Identity Card, or Driving License or Maltese Passport and to drink plenty of water beforehand.
