Donating blood can be seen as an early Christmas gift to the sick, helping them to also enjoy the festive season, said the National Blood Transfusion Service.

The Service has put out an urgent appeal for Type O positive and A positive blood.

With this in mind, the Service is inviting Gozitans to donate blood which is now so urgently needed by the sick in hospitals on Gozo and Malta.

For those who wish to make a donation, there is a session next Tuesday, the 3rd of December, at the District Health Centre in Xewkija, between 1:00pm to 5:00pm (last registration until 5:00pm).

The Centre is located in Triq tall- Hamrija, between the Primary School and the Bocci Club.

The Service reminds everyone that it is important to always take your Identity Card, or Driving License or Maltese Passport and to drink plenty of water beforehand.
