For the past 25 years Tonio Grech has constructed his Nativity scene presepju at the Museum Boys Centre in Nadur.
This year, Tonio has constructed a 30-foot presepju – a first in Gozo of this size – so that people are able to view it all the way round.
The crib is made up of tree bark and gheruq tal qasab, using the latest LED and SMD technology, as well as lasers, which, Tonio said, when combined together provide a “really fantastic and artistic presepju.”
Some of the figurines in the display are over 50-years old, while most of the small pieces creating the Nativity scene are imported directly from Italy and Spain.
This presepju has been officially opened and blessed today – Monday – by Mgr. Jimmy Xerri Archipriest of Nadur.
The presepju will be open every day after 6pm and Sundays after 3 pm.
