The Blood Donation Service has said that although in general over the past weeks blood donations received and been consistent and plentiful, it has not enough to cover the current needs and at the same time keep a good reserve in all blood groups.

Therefore the Service said that has been forced to issue a National Call for Blood Donations of all types, starting from this morning Friday, the 28th of February, up until Sunday, the 1st of March.

Gozitans who are able, are urged to donate at a session this coming Sunday the 1st of March, at the Blood Donation Centre in Xewkija, between 1:00pm to 5:00pm (last registration until 5:00pm). They are also encouraged to invite others to join them.

The donation centre is located at the Xewkija Clinic, in Triq tall- Hamrija, between the Primary School and the Bocci Club.

The Service reminds everyone that it is important to always take your Identity Card, or Driving License or Maltese Passport and to drink plenty of water beforehand.
