The Social Care Standards Authority, in conjunction with Active Ageing and Community Care, has said that they will ensure the safety and health of residents in all residential homes for the elderly and will take all necessary precautions.

In a statement they said that visitors entry times will be between 11am and 12: 30pm and from 4: 00pm and 6: 00pm, and access will only be given access to one person per resident.

In addition, any person, including workers who enter these homes, will undergo the necessary monitoring, they said.

The Social Care Standards Authority said that it will do everything needed to ensure that these necessary measures are implemented.

They reiterated the importance to follow preventive measures issued by the Public Health Department, such as hand washing.

They concluded by saying that it is also very important that anyone feeling sick, or who has just travelled to an affected country, should not visit relatives in these residences.
