In Wednesday’s Covid-19 update, with Supt of Public Health Prof Charmaine Gauci, she said that 6 new cases had been reported in the past 24-hours, including a 1-month old baby, the youngest patient to test positive so far.
She said that 1 case was linked to travel abroad, the man had returned from the UK earlier this month, the remaining 5 are through local transmission. The number of cases now stands at 299.
Prof Gauci explained that 993 swab tests had been carried out during the past 24-hours, almost achieving the goal of 1000 tests a day, as announced by Health Minister Chris Fearne yesterday.
Prof Gauci, speaking about the low number of cases confirmed today, said that what mattered was the overall trend, the public should not concentrate too much on the daily figures.
