Kaccaturi San Ubertu (KSU) has appealed to its members that, “under the current circumstances and without any reservations, to strictly observe all present or future directives related to Covid 19 issued by the Health Authorities,” KSU was referring to the spring hunting season that opens tomorrow.

KSU added that has “never tolerated abuse even more so during derogation.” It appealed to all members “to report any abuse so as to safeguard the credibility of the absolute majority of law abiding hunters which is being damaged by a few law breakers that disrespect all others.”

The season for quail opens Good Friday until the 30th of April, both days included, hunting can commence from two hours before sunrise until noon including Sundays and feast days.

Hunting in Majjestral Park on Wednesdays and feast days is allowed until 10.00am with all other days until noon. The national quota is that of 5000 quail with no individual or daily limits being imposed, the KSU said.

KSU added that acknowledges “the effort on behalf of the Government and the forces of law who, notwithstanding the current situation, upheld the right to derogate.”

It concluded by saying, “our appreciation for this has to be reflected through our actions. Whilst expressing our solidarity with all those whose license was withheld, KSU asks for strict observance of regulations from all those licensed.”
