An 84-year old man has become the third person in the country to lose his life to the Covid-19 virus.

The Health Ministry said in a statement that the man was admitted to Mater Dei Hospital yesterday, and tested positive for Covid-19 that day.

The condition of the man deteriorated and he died this morning at Mater Dei. The Ministry said that the elderly man was also suffering from underlying health conditions,

The Health Ministry expressed its condolences to the family of the deceased and again called on the public to abide by directives issued by the authorities to contain the spread of the virus and help protect the elderly and vulnerable people in our society.
