Police said that with perfect weather for the Public Holiday, it “hoped for the best, but expected the worst” during the patrols today across Malta and Gozo.

59 fines were issued today to persons breaching the regulations on groups of more than 3 (unless they come from the same household) in public spaces

Police said that these patrols by several Police districts and sections will continue throughout this weekend.

No one was found breaching obligatory quarantine during the 232 inspections that were conducted in the last 24 hours. Police said that the appeal remains for one and all to be responsible and co-operate with the directives that are being issued by the authorities.

No establishment was found to be open during any of the 850 inspections that were conducted by the MTA across the Maltese islands. Abuses can be reported on 21692447.
