Gozo Choir Schola Cantorum Jubilate, was the first Maltese choir to participate in a virtual choir in a project in collaboration with renowned Maltese composer Ruben Zahra, this was way back in 2013.

Now, in these difficult times that we are all going through, confined to home because of the Covid-19 virus, the young choristers at SCJ Children’s Choir recorded individually a piece which was later mixed and published online.

The recording included piano playing by Amy Rapa and musical direction by Marouska Attard. Agnus Dei – by Victor C. Johnson, is the children’s prayer through singing over Easter time when “we celebrate the real lamb that offered Himself as a sacrifice for our salvation.”

The SCJ Children’s Choir forms part of Schola Cantorum Jubilate. The children’s choir, presently composed of 25 members, was founded in 2017 and both choirs are under the direction of Marouska Attard.

The children’s choir has performed in various concerts across Gozo and also participated in the Maltese Islands Festival where it obtained a second place with distinction.
