4 new Covid-19 cases reported, 3 are migrants from Hal Far Centre

In Saturday’s daily briefing on the Covid-19 situation, Supt of Public Health Prof Charmaine Gauci advised that 4 new cases had been reported in the past 24-hours.
Of these, there are 3 new cases of migrants at the Hal Far Centre, which is currently under lockdown, where there are now 35 positive cases, Prof Gauci said.
The 4th is a 34-year old Italian male, who is linked to a previous positive case.
The total number of cases now stands at 426, with a further 8 patients announced as recovered making 99 in total.
Prof Gauci explained that there are still two people in the intensive care unit at Mater Dei and their condition is stable.
972 swab tests had been carried out during the past 24-hours, 23,253 have been taken in total/
Prof Gauci once again urged the public to stay at home, saying that if social distancing measures were not practiced the number of daily cases would soon rise.
