The Gaulitanus Choir is presenting the third edition of Gaulitana: A Festival of Music. Like the ones before it, this year’s festival is chock full of activities as can be seen from the programme below:

Monday 6th April – A holy week meditation … The Crucifixion (J. Stainer) with Brian Cefai (tenor), Albert Buttigieg (bass) and the Gaulitanus Choir. Venue: Nativity of our Lady Basilica, Xaghra

Tuesday 14th April – Youth and Music with Pierre Louis Attard (violin), Philip Attard (alto saxophone) & others. Venue: the exhibition hall, St. Francis Square, Victoria

Saturday 18th April – Grand Ballet Concert with the Moscow Ballet. Venue: Teatru tal-Opra Aurora, Victoria. Tickets at: €25/€35/€45/€52. Booking at www.maltaticket.com telephone 21559452 or 21562974.

Sunday 19th April – Tea Concert… British folk music with afternoon tea with Terry Shaw & other Gaulitanus Choir soloists. Venue: The conference hall, Hotel ta’ Cenc, Sannat

Tuesday 21st April – Strings in a Museum with the Thrings String Trio. Venue: Museum of Sculpture, Rotunda Church, Xewkija

Friday 24th April – La Maltija … traditional local music, dance and food with Ta’ l-Andar and Astra Folk Group. Venue: Hotel ta’ Cenc, Sannat, Price: €18 (4-course meal & a glass of wine – booking till Wed 22/4)

Tuesday 28th April – Searching for the Soul with the Animae Gospel Choir. Venue: our Lady of Visitation Basilica, Gharb

Friday 1st May – The Art of Longing … a vocal recital with Emma Darling (soprano). Venue: The Exhibition Hall, St. Francis sqr, Victoria

Sunday 3rd May – Finale … The World of Musical Theatre with the Gaulitanus Choir. Venue: Palazzo Palina, Hotel ta’ Cenc, Sannat. After-concert buffet (optional) at Palazzo Palina, Hotel ta’ Cenc, Sannat. Price: €18 (booking till friday 1st may)

Please note that all concerts start at 20.00hrs except the one on Sunday, the 19th of April, which starts at 17.00hrs. All concerts (except where indicated) are free of charge.

A donation of €40 entitles the donor to a reserved seat for all the events except for the Grand Ballet Concert and the concluding buffet.
