I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and staff who serve at the Victoria Health Centre in Gozo. After the Covid-19 I had my 6 monthly blood test checkup, now that I have a + after my age on my ID card.

I never saw such a worried and concerned look on the doctor’s face when he read my sugar results at a level of 19.1 where it should be between 5 and 6.5.

He took another reading which confirmed the same and took some blood to give me a three months average. He urged me to take stock of my lifestyle in exercise and diet and to see a dietitian.

You might think that this is the end of my story, but it isn’t, After 9 days I managed to lower it to 11.1 through special care in what I eat, calm myself down from what is stressing me and take the prescribed medicine.

This was today and the same doctor was there and as he saw today’s sugar test I could see the satisfaction on his face when he realised that I complied with his advice and that he had been successful in helping me heal.

He was happy for me! Thank you Dr. all the other doctors and the rest of the staff.
