€440,000 invested in road improvements for Xewkija and Kercem

Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri today visited Triq Santa Elizabetta in Xewkija, where resurfacing work is being carried out, funded by the Ministry for Gozo at a cost of €256,000.

In a statement, Minister Camilleri explained that works include a new water main culvert and a storm water culvert that will be joining the existing culvert at Triq Santa Katerina and that of Triq Mgarr. New pavements are also being constructed.

The Minister also visited Kercem where tarmac has been laid on parts of Triq Qasam San Pawl u Triq ta’ Doti, at an estimated cost of €183,000. Works on this project included, curbs, gutters, upgrade of drainage services, water and sewage, which will service all residences in the area.

The Minister for Gozo concluded by saying that the reconstruction of these roads with a total investment of € 440,000 confirms how the Government is “constantly investing in our village infrastructure to the benefit of residents and everyone who visits Gozo.”
