Two firearms, a flair gun and ammunition were discovered last night during a search by Customs Enforcement Officials in a vehicle disembarking the fast ferry, arriving from Sicily.
Customs said that its officials were carrying out searches at the Deep Water Quay, in Marsa, when a van was stopped for further controls.
When starting the vehicle inspection, the driver told the officials that he was carrying firearms. The officials seized a shot gun, an airgun, flare gun, and ammunition, all of which were handed over to Police officials pending police investigation.
