This Saturday, the 29th of August, the village of Gharb will be celebrating its Locality Day and the local council is encouraging as many households as possible to display the Gharb flag.

Gharb Local Council said that the prepared programme has had to be cancelled due to the current situation with the Covid-19 pandemic.

Therefore the revised programme for this year will include the laying of wreaths at the monument of Bishop Mikiel Molina in main Square at 6.00pm and this will be followed at 7.00pm with a Thanksgiving Mass at the Basilica Church of the Visitation.

As is the case every year, the Council said that a number of awards will be presented to various individuals who have distinguished themselves in various fields. Among these recognitions are Gih l-Gharb.

The Gharb Council advised that this initiative will be held in accordance with the directives of the Superintendence of Health. The number inside is limited and for this reason there will be outside seating available on the parvis.
