An 86-year-old woman has died while being positive for Covid-19, the Ministry for Health has said. She is the eleventh person to die from the virus in Malta.

The Ministry, in a statement on Saturday said, that the woman was confirmed positive for Covid-19 on the 18th of August and had been receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit at Mater Dei Hospital since she was admitted.

The Ministry of Health, while offering its condolences to the patient’s family, reiterated its appeal for the public to continue to follow the Public Health guidelines.
