From yesterday’s 106 cases, authorities said that 20 were family members of previously known cases, 2 were direct contacts of other positive cases, 51 were from the St Joseph Home cluster and 3 were from Casa Antonia Home for the Elderly cluster and 2 were imported. Details were not given for the other outstanding 28 cases.

There are now 601 active cases, with 2,595 cases in total. 1,978 have recovered and there have been 16 deaths.
The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control – not including today’s cases – is showing for Malta the 14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 is 127.2 with the number of cases as 2,560. Malta is in fourth position in the EU/EEA and UK. Spain is at the top with 287.2, followed by France with 166.9, Czechia with 143.3, followed by Malta.
Public Health Authorities said that anyone who needs to take a test should call 111 to set an appointment, even if they do not have any symptoms. It is to be noted that due to the large volume of calls, it can take some time to get through.
All swabbing centres are open every day, including the one in Gozo, however appointments must be made on the above number.
