An 91-year-old woman has died while being positive with Covid-19, she passed away late last night at Mater Dei Hospital and sadly becomes the 17th patient to die with the virus.

In a statement on Friday, the Ministry said that the elderly woman tested positive for Covid-19 on the 26th of August and was admitted to Mater Dei on the 6th of September.

It added that the Ministry said that the woman had underlying health conditions.

The Ministry, while offering its condolences to the patient’s family, reiterated its appeal for the public to continue to follow the public health guidelines, including frequent hand washing, social distancing and wearing a mask.
