Health Authorities have advised that an 83-year old man has died while being positive with Covid-19, he passed away today at Mater Dei Hospital. He is the 23rd person to die with the virus, and the second to be announced today.

In a statement, the Ministry for Health said that the man tested positive for Covid-19 on the 16th of September when he was admitted to Mater Dei Hospital, he continued to be treated at the hospital where he died earlier today.

The Ministry said that the man had underlying medical conditions.

While offering its condolences to the patient’s family, the Ministry reiterated its appeal for the public to continue to follow the public health guidelines, including frequent hand washing, social distancing and wearing a mask.
