A 54-year old man has died from Covid-19, the Health Ministry has said. He becomes the 71st victim of the virus and the second advised today, with six deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24-hours.

In a statement the Ministry said the man was admitted to Mater Dei Hospital on the 25th of October and was confirmed positive for Covid-19 on the same day. He passed away earlier today in the ITU at Mater Dei.

The Ministry said that he “was suffering from another chronic illness.”

The Health Ministry, while offering its condolences to the patient’s family, once again reiterated its appeal for the public to continue to follow the public health guidelines, including frequent hand washing, social distancing and wearing a mask.
