146 new Covid-19 cases, with 168 recoveries, now 1,965 active casesThere were 146 new Covid-19 cases recorded in the past 24-hours and 168 recoveries, making 1,965 active cases. 2,941 swabs were taken. The Health Authorities said that today’s cases are “still being investigated.”

The authorities said from yesterday’s 129 cases; 19 were family members of previously known cases, 17 were contacts of positive work colleagues, 11 cases were from direct contacts with positive cases and 7 were from social gatherings with other positive cases. Details were not given for the other outstanding 75 sporadic cases.

The total number of cases are now up to 7,039 There have been 5,000 recoveries and 74 deaths, the Ministry said. There have been 358,456 swab tests taken since the start of the pandemic in Malta.

The European Centre for Disease Prevention and showing for Malta, not including today’s figures, that the 14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000, is 330.9 the number of cases recorded is 6,893 as well as 73 deaths. All swabbing centres are open every day, including the one in Gozo, however appointments must be made on the above number.
