More countries have been added to Malta’s `amber list’ that will come into effect from Friday and which now includes all UK and Portugal airports.

In a statement from the Ministry for Health, it said that as of midnight, on Friday, the 27th of November, passengers arriving from the countries listed below must submit a certificate showing a negative Covid-19 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test, performed no less than 72-hours before arrival in Malta.

It added that passengers arriving from the countries who fail to present this certificate may be submitted to testing in Malta, and may be subject to quarantine.

The countries on the revised list are:

Austria

Belgium (all airports)

Bulgaria

Czech Republic

France (all airports)

Germany (all airports)

Hungary

Ireland (all airports)

Italy (all airports except Sicily and Sardegna)

Luxembourg

Netherlands (all airports)

Poland (all airports)

Portugal (all airports)

Spain (all airports)

Switzerland (all airports)

Tunisia

United Kingdom (all airports)

This notice regarding the revised list of countries shall come into effect on Friday, the 27th of November, at midnight.
