Gozo Channel will be donating 25 cents from each standard fare ticket purchased in December to the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation for Istrina 2020.
This was announced by Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri, who remarked that that Istrina has become synonymous with Maltese and Gozitans, when at this time of year everyone comes together to offer their help and donations.
He added that this year, because of the Pandemic, Christmas will be different to normal and called for the people, especially Gozitans, to be generous.
The Minister for Gozo concluded by praising the initiative by Gozo Channel towards this just cause and explained that it is being done in order to encourage more Maltese and Gozitan people to help the Malta Community Chest Fund as much as possible so that it can continue to assist those who need it most.
Present for the announcement were Permanent Secretary John Borg, Gozo Channel Chairman Joe Cordina, Stephen Ellul, an official on behalf of the President, and Mark Mizzi on behalf of the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation.
Gozo Channel fares will not be affected and regular rates will continue to apply.
