Teatru Astra – Progett ghal Dejjem – is the title of a new publication from the Astra Theatre, in Victoria, Gozo.

This new book is penned by Mr Paul M. Cassar who occupied the post of General Secretary and President of Socjeta La Stella for a long number of years, including during early years, pre dating the 1986 inauguration, when the building of Teatru Astra and the La Stella Band Club was conceived.

The theatre said that throughout the various chapters in the book there are exclusive photos of the construction process, the write-up chronicles the mammoth task and challenges of the committee in acquiring the land and contracting the building works of “what has since established itself as a leading theatre on islands, which hosts major productions ranging from opera, musicals, orchestral concerts and dance shows.”

The official launch of the publication is scheduled for Saturday, the 12th of December, in the presence of the Minister for Gozo, Clint Camilleri.
