Speaking during a political activity at the Innovation Hub in Xewkija, Gozo, Prime Minister Robert Abela advised that the Covid-19 vaccines are expected to start arriving in Malta next Saturday.

The vaccinations should begin to be administered on the 27th of December, he said, with Dr Abela stating that the country will then “start on the road back to normality.”

Abela, however urged that everyone must continue to adhere to the guidelines and restrictions, including wearing a mask etc, until otherwise advised. He said that there needs to be national unity in order for the country to start on its recovery.

The Prime Minister warned that the pandemic won’t disappear just because people will have started to be vaccinated against the virus.

Dr Abela went on to say that some €50 million in vouchers will be distributed to the public in January.
