The AstraZeneca vaccine has arrived in Malta this morning, with Health Minister Chris Fearne announcing on Twitter, that “as of today we have another canon against Coronavirus.”
Malta will only be administering this particular vaccine to those aged between 18 and 55. The Health Minister explained that there were not enough studies at this time to know the vaccine efficacy rate for the older population
Malta already has two other vaccines being administered – Pfizer and Moderna.
Up until Friday 35,676 vaccine doses had been administered. Health authorities said that of those 7,594 were second doses.
