Yesterday, Wednesday the 6th of May 2009, The Gozo CCU Foundation presented a Zoll Pro Defibrillator to the Accident and Emergency Department of The Gozo General Hospital.

In a short speech, the Chairman of The Foundation, Dame Carmen Bellamy, explained that this Defibrillator was being donated so as to enhance the excellent service that is being provided by the staff in this Department. This equipment can also be used on the ambulances.

The Chairman also pointed out that this equipment complimented the Heart Monitors that the Foundation has already donated, which are installed in the Gozo CCU Ward.

Training in the use of this new equipment is being arranged by Mr Charles Mifsud of Associated Equipment.

Dr Livori and Ms Catherine Vella thanked The Gozo CCU Foundation for this very useful piece of equipment which can save lives.
