The quarter finals of the Gozo Motocross Association Championship 2021 took place at Ta’ Xhajma Track at the weekend, with Steve Xuereb of Class A dominating the day

Xuereb, who ended first in Class A, achieved maximum points with David Dimech following in second place. Mario Cauchi following closely behind.

Class B was just as challenging with Jorn Stellini fighting hard for first place. He is currently leading Class B. Biuren Grima won second place, while Robert Spiteri came in third place.

Class C was won by Maltese rider William Sant, beating Jurgen Attard who is currently at the top of the Class C Championship list. Attard came in third place. Young rider Mark Camilleri achieved second place.

In Class D, Luke Caruana dominated, he was followed by Aiden Galea and Chris Tyler Mizzi respectively.

The relatively new GMA Junior Riders, were once again the highlight of the day as they rode the whole circuit under the attentive supervision of GMA president, Frank Xuereb.

The organisers said that the young riders; Zac Tabone, Trysten Theuma, Ben Tabone, Milos Schembri and Ben Tabone challenged themselves and managed to pave the way for more future young participation with GMA.

JDCycles owner, Mr Jason Portelli presented trophies to the winners of the day. Championship points were collected.

The Gozo Motocross Association advised that the semi-final of the Gozo Motocross Championship 2021 fuelledbyEnemed will take place on Sunday, the 11th of April, at Ta’ Xhajma Track. Races start at 1:00pm. Unfortunately the competitions are closed to the general public due to the pandemic restrictions.

The Association said that it encourages and welcomes new riders.
