The Franciscan Sisters have celebrated the feast of the Patron Saint of the Mother House, as well as of their Province – Our Lady Queen of the Sacred Heart.
The Bishop of Gozo, Monsignor Mario Grech, celebrated Mass, together with Rev Fr Carmelo Scicluna and Rev Fr John Mercieca.
The Church was beautifully decorated for the occasion, and the statue of Our Lady above the main altar stood out, seemingly blessing all those present, particularly a large number of Franciscan Sisters, some young girls, and other people who usually frequent this small but welcoming Church, in Palm Street, Victoria, Gozo.
As the Universal Church was also celebrating the World Day of Vocations, it was appropriate that the Bishop should link the two occasions together. During his homily, the Bishop emphasised how important it is for us all to turn to Our Lady to give us the necessary strength to live our vocation faithfully, and thus be true models in today’s turbulent world.
