Road works are to commence in Conception Street, Qala, as from Monday, the 29th of March, in the section between the main square and the Franciscan convent.

These works will include a water culvert, new water mains, a new sewerage system, new pavements and tarmac.

The Qala Local Council has advised that diversion signs have been set up for the route to Hondoq and the eastern part of Qala.

The route for heavy trucks has been changed temporarily until roadworks are completed. The companies involved have been notified to use Triq is-Simar to go towards their respective quarries and will be exiting by using Triq il-Wileg.

The Council said that everyone’s cooperation will be highly appreciated.

The Bus route will also be changed until further notice. Malta Public Transport has advised that the diversion means;

Route buses coming from the Mgarr ferry going towards Victoria will have to divert in Qala from Triq San Guzepp like route 303 to continue the route without serving the Kuncizzjoni Area.
