1,261 fines have been issued over the last 7 days to people in Gozo and Malta by the relevant authorities regarding the enforcement of Covid-19 regulations, the government said.

The majority of fines issued – 784 – were once again related to not wearing a mask. 366 people were fined for being in groups of more than two in public places.

92 people were fined for violating the regulations relating to private gatherings in residences.

There were 6 establishments that were fined for violating the conditions of their establishments and 13 people were fined for not complying with the quarantine obligation.

The Government said that while some measures are slowly being relaxed, “enforcement will remain strong”

The Government warned that, “it is important that we continue to take care of each other and respect the measures that are in place.”
