1058 fines issued last week for breach of Covid-19 regulations

1058 fines were issued during the last 7 days to people in Gozo and Malta by the relevant authorities regarding the enforcement of Covid-19 regulations.
The Government said that “the message is very clear, while relaxing some measures and attacking the virus with the vaccine, enforcement remains strong.”
799 fines were related to not wearing a mask. 160 people were fined for being in groups of more than four in public places.
There was a case of breaching the rules on mass events and 83 people were fined for violating the regulations relating to private gatherings in residences.
8 fines were imposed in connection with breaches of rules for establishments and 7 people were fined for not complying with the quarantine obligation.
