The Gozo University Group has welcomed announcement of the schedules and fares by the two operators who will be operating the new fast ferry service from Valletta to Gozo.
The organisation said that it believes that this is a “great initiative” to improve the connectivity between Malta and Gozo.
GUG added that “it is apparent that the announced schedules and fares were very carefully drawn up to cater for all, most importantly to Gozitan students who are to commute on a daily basis.”
These two operators are not only offering reasonable fares, but also a timely schedule that would allow any student to travel with ease in the most efficient way possible,” it said.
The linked shuttle bus service to key locations such as the University of Malta and Mcast will further aid students to get to their final destination on time – a suggestion that GUG said it had made to the service providers.
The organisation pointed out that the subsidies that Gozitan students already benefit from, will further encourage them to remain living in Gozo while studying in Malta.
“The aim of the Gozo University Group has been and will always be to make change easier and this long-awaited ferry service is surely a step forward for all.”
The Gozo University Group concluded by saying that it looks forward to the start of this new fast ferry service and thank all those who worked to make this service a reality.

If this service is aimed at students only in mind than this will not last cause you cant operate without profits unless it is largely subsidized by the tax payer.
