Kits for the conservation of water are being sent out to Gozitan households as part of the national campaign known as Water – Be the Change.

During the months of June and July, more than 12,000 Gozitan families will be receiving water-saving kits.

The mobile unit will be visiting a different locality on the island every week to distribute the water saving kits.

Each residence will receive a voucher and a gift pack, which would then be redeemed from the mobile unit available at the locality during the particular week as advised.

The Gozo distribution was launched by Minister for Energy, Enterprise and Sustainable Development Miriam Dalli, Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri, and Parliamentary Secretary for European Funds Stefan Zrinzo Azzopardi.

“The distribution of these water kits is aimed at helping households make simple changes to help reduce the excessive use of water. With the installation of this equipment, along with daily practices for the efficient use of water, a four-member family can reduce water consumption by 40,000 litres per year,” explained Minister Miriam Dalli.

Minister Camilleri praised this campaign saying how important it is “that from an early age, we nurture our children not to waste water.”

In this campaign about 100,000 water-saving kits will be distributed, with items aimed towards the preservation of water.

This campaign is managed by the Energy and Water Agency within the Ministry for Energy, Enterprise and Sustainable Development and is financed by the European Cohesion Funds.

Of course this requires an ARMS bill and the ID of the account holder…. Just another punch in the eye of those who rent properties

The guy who delivered my single tap attachment said that as I rent, all I need is my ID and a copy of the bill, it did not matter that it wasn’t my name on the bill as the account holder. I would then be given the household kit. It simply means they can allocate that kit to that household.
