No new Covid-19 case registered, with 3 recoveries active cases now at 59There have been zero new Covid-19 case recorded in the past 24-hours from the 1,793 swab tests that were taken. There were 3 recoveries and no new deaths registered.

This is the second time in a week that no new cases have been found, there were also none registered last Monday.

Active cases are now at 59 in Malta and Gozo. The total number of cases since the start of the pandemic in Malta is 30,581 and there have been 30,103 recoveries and 419 deaths.

953,096 swab tests have been taken since the start of the pandemic in Malta.

587,160 doses of the vaccine have been administered up until yesterday. 258,929 are now fully vaccinated, while 69,302 are partly vaccinated.

The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control has advised that it will be reporting figures on a weekly basis – every Thursday. As of the 10th of June, it shows that the number of cases recorded for Malta is at 30,571 and the number of deaths showing is 419. The 14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 is now 12.63, the lowest in the EU.

The ECDC said that the above data are collected between Monday and Wednesday for the proceeding week.

The Ministry of Health called on the public to continue to follow the preventive measures so that we can protect the most vulnerable in our society – This includes wearing of masks, social distancing and hand hygiene.
