For the second day this week, there were no new Covid-19 cases registered in the past 24-hours from the 1,526 swab tests taken. There were also no new cases found on Sunday.

Health Authorities advised that there were 3 recoveries and no new deaths registered.

Active cases are now down to 51 in Malta and Gozo. The total number of cases since the start of the pandemic in Malta is 30,582 and there have been 30,112 recoveries and 419 deaths.

955,643 swab tests have been taken since the start of the pandemic in Malta.

596,074 doses of the vaccine have been administered up until yesterday. 265,090 are now fully vaccinated, while 65,894 are partly vaccinated.

Health Minister Chris Fearne announced earlier today that 60% of the adult population was now vaccinated.

The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control has advised that it will be reporting figures on a weekly basis – every Thursday. As of the 10th of June, it shows that the number of cases recorded for Malta is at 30,571 and the number of deaths showing is 419. The 14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 is now 12.63, the lowest in the EU.

The ECDC said that the above data are collected between Monday and Wednesday for the proceeding week.

The Ministry of Health called on the public to continue to follow the preventive measures so that we can protect the most vulnerable in our society – This includes wearing of masks, social distancing and hand hygiene.
