Gozo blood donation session on Sunday, call for donations

The National Blood Transfusion Service said that it would like to thank the 37 people who donated blood at the Xewkija Clinic last Tuesday.
The Service, in connection with World Blood Donor Day, calls on Gozitans to please donate blood. This year’s slogan is – Give blood and keep the world beating.
Donations can be made at the Centre in Xewkija, on Sunday the 20th of June from 8am to 1pm (last registration until 1pm).
The centre is located at the Xewkija Clinic, in Triq tall- Hamrija, between the Primary School and the Bocci Club.
The Service reminds everyone that it is important to always take your Identity Card, or Driving License or Maltese Passport and to drink plenty of water beforehand. Also, please encourage others to donate if possible.
Anyone currently waiting to take a Covid-19 test, or who has had the test and is waiting for the result, cannot give blood.
Anyone who has tested positive for Covid-19 will be able to donate blood 4 weeks from the last symptoms.
Anyone taking the vaccine must allow 7 days to elapse before donating blood.
A blood donor must allow 7 days to elapse before taking the Covid-19 vaccine.
