Two days ago I hosted an Italian doctor from Sicily just for a day out around Gozo. We are good friends so it is easy for us to have nice conversations. We had Gozitan Ftira around noon for he wanted to taste some Maltese snack, but not Pastizzi because he had had those already.

Getting to dinner time he asked me something which seemed very strange at the time but I appreciated it so much that I am going to share it with your readers. He asked me if there was a good restaurant who accepted only fully Vaccinated Patrons.

I answered not that I know of and he continued to tell me how safe and good he felt flying in the close environment of an airplane with travellers and staff who were all fully vaccinated because the Maltese Health Minister made it so.

Then he said now that Malta is nearly all vaccinated it would be good that some or all restaurants who want to do so, would only serve fully vaccinated people and if they apply this rule then the Government will give them permission to reduce the rule of 2 metres between each table, as all diners would be fully vaccinated.

We discussed this at length and we came to a conclusion that yes, if the Health Department is confident of the protection of the vaccine then as the number of people for weddings etc was raised, the number of places in restaurants should be raised if the customers are obliged to enter with a certificate, as is already the practice in several countries – https://youtu.be/U-KgmkK2AJ0

The few people who for some reason do not want to take the vaccine can use Bolt or Wolt.
