An exhibition to mark the 130th anniversary of Vincenzo Bonello is being hosted by Il-Hagar Museum in Gozo.
This important exhibition will feature a substantial number of designs for Gozitan churches by Vincenzo Bonello, including Ta’ Pinu and Mgarr and the parishes of Kercem, Qala and Xewkija. A portrait and a bust will further increase interest, the museum said.
Essential support for the exhibition came from Wignacourt and Muza museums, together with the National Archives and Ta’ Pinu Basilica.
Judge Emeritus Giovanni Bonello will be leading the inauguration, which will be on the 130th anniversary of his father’s birth – Friday, the 3rd of September, starting at 7.30pm.
This will be accompanied with another publication in the Il-Hagar GEMS series (#13).
“Vincenzo Bonello: 130th Anniversary” will be open to the public until the 28th of September, during the normal opening hours of 9am to 5pm seven days a week. There are no entrance fees.
The museum is located in St George’s Square, Victoria.
