Blood donation session on Tuesday at the Xewkija Clinic in Gozo

The National Blood Transfusion Service have thanked the 31 people who called to donate blood last Sunday in Gozo, giving their support to the sick and injured people in the hospitals of Gozo and Malta.
The Service is is once again inviting healthy people in Gozo to please donate blood on Tuesday, the 7th of September.
There will be a session from 1pm to 5pm (last registrations until 5pm) at the Centre in Xewkija. If Sunday is not possible, then there will be another opportunity to donate on Sunday, the 12th of September, from 8am to 1pm (last registration until 1pm).
The centre is located at the Xewkija Clinic, in Triq tall- Hamrija, between the Primary School and the Bocci Club.
The Service reminds everyone that it is very important to always take your Identity Card, or Driving License or Maltese Passport and to drink plenty of water beforehand. Also, please encourage others to donate if possible.
Anyone who has undergone a swab test, even if routine or due to travel should wait until they have a Covid-19 negative result before donating blood.
People with a fever or flu symptoms should wait 7 days before donating blood.
Anyone taking the vaccine must allow 48 hours to elapse before donating blood.
A blood donor must allow 7 days to elapse before taking the Covid-19 vaccine.
