At the end of the Mass, Ms Carmen Bellamy on behalf of the Gozo CCU Foundation, presented Villa San Lawrenz with an AED for use in case of emergency.

Bishop Teuma then had a meeting with the first Housing Management Board, which was appointed by the Bishop, with  Mr. Paul Buttigieg as its new CEO.

Villa San Lawrenz has been operating as a residence for the elderly since 2011. The first stone was laid by Ugo Mifsud Bonnici, who was then President of Malta, in December 1996.

It was built with the work of the local Parish Priest Fr Mikiel Borg and many volunteers from San Lawrenz who had created a quarry where the village Cemetery was being built and from where was cut the stone needed for this nursing home.
